About Beth Lane Williams
My roots were established among musicians, writers, and artists. Growing up in a creative environment has greatly influenced my work. Our move to Southwest Florida in the 80's peaked my interest in the local history of the Seminole Indians and the native plants and animals found here. Working with pine needles as my chosen medium has evolved because of my surroundings. With pine needles falling daily in our yard; I have an unending supply. I have incorporated old basketry techniques with contemporary ideas for my unique interpretations.
My education includes art and counseling with disabled individuals. When not working with pine needles, I am combining my training by teaching art to adults with developmental disabilities. It is extremely fulfilling to help them discover a creative way to express themselves.
